If you don’t see your question here, please get in touch, we’re always happy to help.
Can you fix me, and how long will it take?
We’ll always be honest with you. While no one can guarantee a complete recovery, our goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for your specific condition. We’ll clearly explain what’s realistic, what may take longer, and what you can expect from your treatment plan.
How long are appointments?
Your first appointment usually runs 45–60 minutes, which includes a full assessment and treatment. Follow-up sessions are typically 30 minutes, although some conditions may need a little longer depending on your progress.
How many appointments will I need?
It varies for everyone. The number of sessions depends on the severity of your condition and how your body responds. On average, most people notice significant improvement within 3–6 visits. We’ll only book you for as many sessions as you truly need.
What should I wear?
We usually treat through clothing, so please wear loose, comfortable clothes such as shorts, tracksuit pants, or a t-shirt. Avoid tight clothing like jeans, as it can limit movement. If dry needling is part of your session, we’ll make sure you’re covered appropriately for comfort and privacy.
Can I claim private health rebates?
Yes. If your extras cover includes Myotherapy or Remedial Massage, you can claim a rebate on the spot using our HICAPS system. If you need to claim manually, we can email you an invoice to send to your health fund.
Should I bring scans or X-rays?
You don’t need to bring the actual images. A copy of the report (either printed or digital) is all we need to help guide your treatment.
Should I book online or call?
Either is fine! You can book online anytime, but if your preferred time isn’t showing, give us a call or send a text – sometimes we can fit you in even if it’s not listed online.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that things come up unexpectedly. Please try to let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to another client. The easiest way to cancel is to send us a quick text message.
Are there any side effects from dry needling?
Most side effects are mild and short-term. You may notice:
- Temporary soreness, bruising, or a small spot of bleeding where the needle was inserted
- A brief feeling of tiredness or light-headedness
- Mild muscle ache for up to 24–48 hours
These effects usually pass quickly and are part of the body’s normal healing response. Serious reactions (like infection or nerve irritation) are extremely rare. Your myotherapist will always explain the process and ensure your comfort and safety.
What can I expect after dry needling therapy?
Some people feel immediate relief or better movement straight after treatment. For others, improvement builds gradually over a few hours or days.
You might feel a little sore the next day – similar to post-exercise soreness – which is normal and short-lived.
