How we help you
At Logan Myotherapy, we combine modern dry needling techniques with proven hands-on therapies to help you get out of pain as fast as possible, even if you’ve struggled to find relief elsewhere.

Why dry needling works so well
Research shows dry needling provides better short and long-term pain relief than other treatments including massage, stretching, conventional rehabilitation, and rolling. Dry needling:
- Can provide fast pain relief, often within seconds.
- Is extremely accurate, making it ideal for hard-to-treat areas.
- Helps resolve pain not responding to other treatments.
- Combined with hands-on treatment enhances lasting pain relief.
If you’re dealing with persistent muscle pain that hasn’t responded to other treatments, dry needling could be the solution you’ve been looking for.
Our 3-Step Method
1. Identify the source
First, we start with a thorough assessment to find the exact muscles causing your pain – not just where it hurts. Often, the pain you feel is not where it originates from.
2. Target the problem
Next, we treat the muscles causing the problem to release tension, reset the nervous system, and restore pain free movement
3. Long-lasting relief
Lastly, our aim is to reduce your pain as fast as possible while focusing on long-term relief, not short-term fixes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I claim Private Health Rebates?
Yes. If your extras cover includes Myotherapy or Remedial Massage, you can claim a rebate on the spot using our HICAPS system. If you need to claim manually, we can email you an invoice to send to your health fund.

How long are appointments?
Your first appointment usually runs 45–60 minutes, which includes a full assessment and treatment. Follow-up sessions are typically 30 minutes, although some conditions may need a little longer depending on your progress.
How many appointments will I need?
It varies for everyone. The number of sessions depends on the severity of your condition and how your body responds. On average, most people notice significant improvement within 3–6 visits. We’ll only book you for as many sessions as you truly need.
What do I wear?
How long are myotherapy appointments?
We treat through clothing, so please wear loose, comfortable clothes such as shorts, tracksuit pants, or a t-shirt. Avoid tight clothing like jeans, as it can limit movement.
If dry needling is part of your session, we’ll make sure you’re covered appropriately for comfort and privacy.
Should I book online or call?
Either. You can book online anytime, but if your preferred time isn’t showing, give us a call or send a text – sometimes we can fit you in even if it’s not listed online.
Is dry needling right for you?
Although dry needling offers a range of benefits from fast pain relief and improved mobility to enhanced athletic performance, it is not for everyone.
People with certain medical conditions, such as bleeding disorders or needle phobia, may not be suitable for needling. For those clients, we provide alternative treatment techniques to ensure effective care.
Dry Needling vs. Acupuncture
Dry Needling vs. Acupuncture
Although dry needling and acupuncture use similar fine needles, they are very different treatments.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is based on modern anatomy, physiology, and pain science. It focuses on relaxing your muscles so you can move with less pain. The needle is placed directly into tight or irritated muscle spots – often called trigger points – to release tension, improve movement, and reduce discomfort.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional treatment based on Chinese Medicine. Needles are placed along specific pathways (meridians) to support the body’s energy flow and overall balance. It’s commonly used for broader health concerns such as stress, sleep issues, digestion, headaches, and general wellbeing.
What can I expect after dry needling therapy?
Some people feel immediate relief or better movement straight after treatment. For others, improvement builds gradually over a few hours or days.
You may also notice:
- Temporary soreness, bruising, or a small spot of bleeding where the needle was inserted
- A brief feeling of tiredness or light-headedness
- Mild muscle ache for up to 24–48 hours
These effects usually pass quickly and are part of the body’s normal healing response. Serious reactions (like infection or nerve irritation) are extremely rare. Your myotherapist will always explain the process and ensure your comfort and safety.
Does dry needling hurt?
Most people feel only a quick, mild sensation when the needle enters the muscle. You may feel a brief twitch or ache. This is normal and often means the muscle is releasing. Many people describe the treatment as surprisingly comfortable.
