Dry Needling for Pain and Injury Management
Dry needling is a targeted treatment used to relieve both short- and long-term pain. Research shows it can provide faster and more effective results than other stand-alone treatments like massage, stretching, conventional rehabilitation, ect.
The technique involves inserting fine, solid needles (as used in acupuncture) into the muscles causing pain. This helps the muscle relax and restore pain-free movement.
Is it like Acupuncture?
Not really. Dry needling is based on Western medicine principles focusing on the musculoskeletal and nervous system. Acupuncture is founded in traditional Chinese medicine and aims to balance the body’s energy flow, or “chi”.
